Planting & Care
Planting Instructions: Plant your Calo Pyramid in a place that will receive full sun for 6-8 hours a day. The sunnier the spot, the better for your Calo. Keep in mind that the Calo naturally grows in the Australian outback where salty, dry air and poor soil are prevalent. You don t need to worry about soil condition, so don t amend your soil when planting. Just be sure that your soil drains quickly and thoroughly. Place in a hole in the ground that is big enough to cover the root ball or plant your Calo Pyramid in a well-draining container. Water gently immediately after planting to establish the root system. Mulch only in winter if you live in a climate with light frosts.
Watering: Do not water this plant frequently. If you live in a humid, wet climate, your plant may thrive better in a container where you can protect it from flooding. Water from light rain should be enough to keep your plant alive. Overwatering is the biggest threat to the life of this plant.
Fertilization: There is no need to fertilize your Calo.
Pruning: The Calo Pyramid does not react well to heavy pruning. You may cut off dead branches once the plant has matured. To maintain the pyramidal shape, you can pinch young stems.
